Learning Python
For the second semester my engineering and fabrications class was replaced with Ms. Jeanie's computer science class. In this class we have used programs such as Scratch, BJC and Project Stem to study coding, vocabulary and concepts found in computer science. We are currently on unit 3 for project stem's CS Python Fundamentals class, and down below is some code that I've written for the short assignments. I'm really glad I will finally learn a computer language and I'm proud of the the progress I've made in this class. For this project I used my interpersonal skills to apply what I learned in class to decide what classes I want to take in the future and what skills in computer science I want build on. In class I work with my peers to build and fix our code. Using this skill allows me to apply computer science in my daily life and hopefully help me become a CS major in the future.

I run through bumps almost every time I sit down to code but troubleshooting and rewriting code is part of the process. I sometime forget the rules than I need to follow and therefor I get a syntax error. One mistake I make quite often is forgetting to make a variable into a string or putting two equal signs (==) for a command. A habit of mine that I would like to change when coding is skipping over details I think aren’t important (skipping a lesson or video). I end up regretting it because I can't complete an assignment without knowing how to use those functions. I really enjoy this class and I hope to have more opportunities to use my coding skills and grow as a student interested in STEM.
