Apartment Geometry
One of our final assignment for geometry is to design an apartment complex using what we learned in past units, specifically dilation, and rotation. First we individually designed our apartments on graph paper, then we were put into groups and decided what traits to take from each person's apartment and re-design our own together. We also decided what the cost of rent would be normally and if the floor space was multiplied 2x. This involved using my financial, economic, and business literacy skill to estimate the price for rent in different locations (ex. Texas v.s. Hawaii) and compare assets of different sizes and how that would affect the price of the apartment.
What I found difficult during this project was having good time management. My group was a little bit behind the other groups and we were behind on drawing out the floor plan.
