For my second spring sport I joined my school's tennis team. Unlike running I have no prior experience and I am very excited to develop new skills and play a new sport. On Mondays we have an hour to an hour in a half cardio workout. On Wednesday and Fridays, I have regular practice where we practice techniques and game play. Tennis is a spring replacement for paddling, which is a fall sport. So far tennis has been super fun and helped me stay active.
2022 Update: I plan on playing again this spring for the school team. These past months I've been practicing on off season with my sister who will be a freshman on the team this year.

Track is a spring sport I decided to take up after cross country ended. I running with a team that is organized by KCS and RIF (Run It Forward). I run between 800m to 1500m since I am better at running longer distance than sprinting. I am more interested in track events rather than field events such as discus throwing and pole vaulting. I plan to do track in spring as a replacement to cross country which is a fall sport. Practice is every Tuesday and Thursday after school and on Saturday we have races.
At Kihei Charter School the class of 2024 was lucky enough to get chosen for a big senior trip at the end of graduation to fly to Oahu or California, depending on our success to raise enough money for the trip. The Chosen Ones Committee is a group of students who will dedicate time to raising money for the trip. We brainstorm fundraising ideas and ways to get our community to contribute. We plan to collaborate with our school's Eco Club who is collecting recycling and receiving some money from cans and bottles to go to the senior trip. We recently bought a button press and are selling customizable pins ranging from 3-5 dollars. I hope within 3 years we can all take a fun trip in our last days as highschool students.
