Back in 6th grade I joined my middle school cross country team with my friends Ethan and Katelyn. At the moment I wasn’t in shape but cross country helped me get healthier and have more endurance and stamina. I only attended the practices and final race of the season but I was happy just to be able to run with my team when I could. I continued through half of 7th grade but quit to focus on my other priorities. Freshman year I was planning to join the team again but once again due to the current situation that has been postponed. Still, during my free time I try to run and keep in shape for when we return to our normal schedule.

I've recently started watching anime which led up to me joining my schools anime club who is supervised by Mr. Adam Fleischer. I only know one person in the club at the moment, AJ who paddles with me at the canoe club, I hope to make a few more friends through the club soon. I heard about the club through AJ's brother Samson who is very nice. The club is full of very accepting people and they make talking about our interest in anime fun and friendly. At the moment since we can't meet in person we communicate through Discord. I got into anime through the love of cartoons, I've never really been into live tv shows(exceptions: The 100 and That 70s show). My favorite anime at the moment is The Promised Neverland which is a thriller anime about kids trying to escape an orphanage that produces and cares for kids just to be eaten by demons at the ages of 6-12 years old, it's very intense and has lots of twist and I’m excited for season 2 which comes out next year.
I joined Kihei Canoe Club back when I was 11 and still in middle school. Going out to paddle helped me get outside of the house and be active. Coach Ellen and coach Vanessa have taught me proper form and how to push the paddle into the water, I am very grateful for them. During spring we practice 4 times a week after school from 3:00 to 5:30 at Sugar Beach and during summer our regatta's are hosted by different clubs at different beaches. There are 6 seats and roles in a canoe, my seat would rotate between 2 who mirrors seat one by setting the pace and keeping up (very important) and seat 3 who calls changes and is a powerhouse seat. My crew usually places 3rd or 4th place which I think is very good considering how many teams paddle and how competitive other clubs are, specifically hawaiian canoe club. The summer of 2019 my crew qualified for championships but I was sadly injured on left hand right before and was unable to go to Oahu with my friends. This year because of COVID-19 this season was cancelled which breaks my heart but I hope soon we can return. I also hope to join my high school’s paddling team who paddles at kihei canoe club.
Compugirls Hawaii introduces high school girls from populations traditionally underrepresented in STEM to cybersecurity and information technology as a field of study and viable career path. Provide learning and mentorship opportunities with female industry leaders. I recently joined their 5 year program and I'm currently attending their 6 week cybersecurity introduction camp that is hosted online through weekend zoom classes due to the situation we're in. There are over 50 girls in the program but we were separated into smaller classes. My assigned teacher is Ms. Whitney Aragaki and I'm in a class with 8 other girls which surprisingly none live on Maui.
